What it is used for

QuilliChew ER is indicated for the treatment of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Limitations of Use The use of QuilliChew ER is not recommended in pediatric patients younger than 6 years of age because they had higher plasma exposure and a higher incidence of adverse reactions (e.g., weight loss) than patients 6 years and older at the same dosage. Description

QuilliChew ER (methylphenidate hydrochloride extended-release chewable tablets) contains methylphenidate and methylphenidate hydrochloride. QuilliChew ER is available in three dosage strengths - 20 mg, 30 mg and 40 mg. The dosage strengths are expressed in terms of methylphenidate hydrochloride equivalents; however only 15% of methylphenidate is present as methylphenidate hydrochloride salt. The remaining 85% is present as methylphenidate complexed with sodium polystyrene sulfonate. QuilliChew ER contains the equivalent of approximately 30% immediate-release and 70% extended-release methylphenidate.
