The same pills, the same strength, the same manufacturer, can cost eleven dollars in one place and two hundred in another. Nothing about the medicine changes. What changes is where you bought it, and almost nobody is told that before they pay.
KenyRx is free and sells nothing. It exists to answer one question: where can I get this cheaper?
People paying with their own money.
The uninsured. The underinsured. Anyone whose deductible has not been met, which by spring is most people who have one. If your plan covers your medication for a small copay, you already have the answer and you do not need us.
Everyone else is quoted a price with no way to tell whether it is reasonable. That is the gap this fills.
By what you actually pay. Nothing else.
Every option is ranked on the total that leaves your pocket — the drug, the dispensing fee, the shipping — for the quantity you were actually prescribed. Not the price per tablet, not the price before fees, not the price for a pack size you would have to buy three of.
Nobody pays to rank higher, and no one can. If a supermarket shelf beats every pharmacy we know of, the shelf goes first. If a mail-order pharmacy beats a discount card, the pharmacy goes first. A ranking that could be bought would not be worth publishing.
What we cannot tell you yet.
The pharmacy on your corner. We cover mail order well and over-the-counter shelf prices in a limited number of areas, but we cannot yet tell you what your local retail pharmacy will charge for a prescription. It is the most common question we get and the one we answer with “we don’t know.” We are working on it.
Brand-only drugs. If a medication has no generic and no cash pharmacy we track carries it, we will say so plainly rather than invent a number. Where a manufacturer programme might cover it, we will point you there instead.
Prices move. Everything here is an estimate built from published data, not a quote. Confirm at the counter before you rely on it.
No account, no tracking, no selling you on.
There is nothing to sign up for and no card to print. We do not sell your data, because we do not collect it — searching for a medication should not put you on a list.
Where another service can price something we cannot, we link you straight to them and keep none of their data. We would rather send you somewhere else than show you a number we are not sure of.
Referral fees, and only after the ranking.
Some links out earn us a referral fee — Amazon among them, where we participate in the Associates programme. It costs you nothing and changes no price you are shown.
It cannot change the order either, and that is the part worth being precise about. We hold no prices from those retailers and are not permitted to, so a referral link has no number attached and literally cannot be ranked against anything. It sits below the comparison as somewhere else to look, never inside it as a recommendation.

Public data you can check yourself.
The benchmark running through the site is the CMS National Average Drug Acquisition Cost survey — what pharmacies themselves paid, published by the federal government. Drug identity comes from RxNorm and the FDA’s NDC Directory. All of it is public domain, and any figure here can be traced back to its source.
